Aor butel software

This has now been corrected and this works as it should. I will try to find some time during the weekend to play with the radio and the program a bit more.

There are still a few items which I believe have to be tweaked in the program, but Build 3 is a good move forward. KeithKenobi Member Premium Subscriber. I just loaded build 3 too. I only have the Demo version.

Is that available on the paid version? KeithKenobi said:. DV1 -- Version 0. Here is a copy of my letter. Would appreciate if other users would confirm the issues.

I'm running the full version on one machine and the demo on another, and both have the same problems. Also, on the second page, after Bank 27, the bank numbers are all skewed and out of proper order. Program can read it from the radio, but not write it to the radio. Still looking over the program will reach out if I find more bugs. I did get a response from Butel about additional fields for color code etc. Told him that I was pleased with the latest update as I have posted elsewhere.

Think he said that MStep had just spoke to him by phone. Taka been getting quite a few calls from folks like us. Firmware updates are still going to be coming. AOR in Japan busy with some other project until early March. Then they will be working on 6. They expect that to be doable with FW updates. Taka said he will be in contact with Gommert at Butel for further cooperation in improving software. I asked him specifically if buying the AR series is a good idea at this point for anybody, and he said, they would be better off with the AR-DV1.

AOR still plans on doing a lot more work to improve the receiver. For us, but mostly for their big commercial market. That's the latest "straight from the horse's mouth" update on the AR-DV1. Steve AA6IO. What is my problem. Got the software, using cable Blackberry charge, sync cable.

Imported freqs. I can't even tell if my computer is communicating with the radi pens usb port and software operates as its sending to radio however nothing is being retained by radio. I try read from radio to program and nothing shows. I really at a loss. Told him that I was pleased with the latest update as I have posted elsewhere. Steve AA6IO. Missing Feature In Newer Builds??? I wrote to Gommert at Butel to ask about a feature that was available in Build 1 under "Tools" that involved frequency lookups for registered RR users.

On my version of Build 4, the feature seems to have disappeared Gommert advised his Build 4 still has the feature. Has anyone else noticed its absence? I wrote back to Gommert with a followup-- will keep all interested parties informed, as it was a very nifty and powerful function of his DV1 software.

There are some things he wishes me to keep confidential at this time. Taka just sent me an e-mail that "he received an e-mail from Gommert today, who has been working on software for the AR-DV1, and it should be ready at the end of this month for sale in July. That is indeed great news. This will step up the function of the AR-DV1 quite a bit in my opinion.

Gommert, if you read this post, thank you very much. Steve AA6IO. This is great news for the AR-DV1 owners! Software and firmware will definately be on a continuing path to refine the AR-DV1. Gommert has a long history of writing good programming and control software and I own several of his programs.

I'm not sure I'd hold my breath about it adding any of the coveted "features" but it is definitely a positive sign with regards to being able to program the receiver with something other than one's fingers. If the command protocols are released it could potentially open the doors for some interesting third party developments, but the problem that remains is that how many of them are going to be out there, and how worthwhile is it for someone to take the time to write software for them? The onus is still on AOR to do "something".
