That was in and I am now 84 years of age. I have made at least 7 thousand of them and given all of them away, most to youngsters. I know the propellers were fastened to the instrument panels on multi-engined airplanes in WW-2 enabling fine tuning the engine revs to be in synch.

I recon I was about 7 or 8 years old, and Mr Pink Young, made it in just a few minutes, but he made lots of them and gave them away also. When I was a boy, boys carried pocket knives. Nobody ever thought twice about it, it is just the way it was amongst country boys. Well, my grandpa taught me how to whittle a whimmy diddle. Many whimmy diddles were made by me and my buddies. Many a champion came and went. Enjoyed the whimmy diddle story so much.
